Chicago Catholics anticipating arrival of Cupich as Cardinal George’s successor

As Chicago area Catholics attended Sunday Mass today, they were looking ahead to the arrival of Archbishop-Designate Blase Cupich as the new leader of the Chicago Archdiocese.

Cupich was introduced yesterday as the successor to Francis Cardinal George. He currently heads the Catholic Diocese of Spokane, Washington and is Cupich is considered a moderate.

Parishioners at Holy Name Cathedral who spoke with WGN today are anxious to see what's ahead when he takes over from Cardinal George.

Bishop Cupich is scheduled to be installed as Archbishop of Chicago on November 18th.
