Jimmy Fallon bringing “The Tonight Show” to Chicago – thanks to Mayor Emanuel
The Tonight Show is returning to Chicago for the first time in more than a decade, and Mayor Emanuel is to thank.
Emanuel challenged kids in Chicago to read 2.4 million books over the summer.
The kids not only reached the goal, they surpassed it.
The mayor made the same bet the year before, and when he lost he took the Polar Plunge with Jimmy Fallon.
Emanuel asked Fallon to tape The Tonight Show in Chicago if this year’s goal was met.
Thursday night, Fallon agreed to it.
The mayor responded by Twitter writing, “Excited to welcome Jimmy Fallon to Chicago to celebrate 2.7 million books read by our kids”.
He added, “Yes jimmy, you can stay at my house”.
