It seems the grinch has visited Catholic Charities of Lake County.

Toy thieves stole about 150 toys and gifts from the charity.  The gifts, left over from last year, were stored in a building on Lewis Avenue in Waukegan.

The theft has left the charity with nothing to start its gift-giving program with this holiday season.  Now the charity is asking the community for new donations.

The annual gift-giving program matches Lake County families of all faiths with organizations and individuals, who purchase presents for them.  Families give their donor a list that includes ages and items a person receiving a gift might like.

Last year, Catholic Charities distributed 15,000 gifts to families in need.
