Millions of Americans are on the roads this Labor Day holiday weekend.. and they're finding gas prices at their lowest level since 2010.
In the Chicago area, gas prices average about $3.62 a gallon.
The national average is $3.43 a gallon.
Experts say it's due to a relatively calm hurricane season, a lack of maintenance issues at oil refineries, and high oil production rates in the U-S.
But wholesale gasoline prices did rise in Chicago after last week's fire at the B-P refinery in Whiting, Indiana, the largest refinery in the Midwest.
