There are no injuries reported, but firefighters say flareups will continue.  The partial collapse of the buildings mean there are a lot of hhidden fire that they can’t get at until a demolition crew dismantles the building.

There are businesses on the first floor of the building  including a shoe store, mattress store and convenience store. The top floors are vacant.

The manager of Rainbow said the store’s basement was flooded and she added “all the clothes are filled up with smoke right now.”

Service on the green line was disrupted, but has since been restored.

Chicago Fire Captain Ken Pallister captured a stunning video of firefighters battling the extra-alarm blaze.
