Two airline passengers grounded after fight over reclining seats

A United Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Chicago after two passengers got into a fight over reclining seats.

It happened Sunday on a flight from Newark to Denver.

Witnesses say one passenger put a device called a Knee Defender on his tray table to prevent the person in front of him from reclining.

This inexpensive device made headlines earlier this summer but was quickly banned by all major U.S. airlines.

The man said he was trying to work on his computer and refused to remove the device.

He was kicked off the plane, and so was the other passenger, because she threw a cup of water at him.

The flight continued on to Denver a little late, but without further incident.

Not surprising. The airlines have squashed people into the tiniest of spaces which are minimized when the person in front of you reclines. I don’t do it, as I know it’s causing discomfort to the person behind me. I think it’s rude and inconsiderate to recline and I’m less than happy when someone does it, so I can see less stable people fighting over the issue. The airline is to blame with no consequence while people leave their airplanes cramped and angry.

Too bad everyone isn’t as considerate as Jamie on planes.I’m surprised fighting doesn’t happen more often with the stress of being cramped up in seats with no legroom.
