Thousands of athletes from 44 states and 18 countries participated in the Chicago Triathlon Sunday, a three part race of running, biking and swimming.
The swim course was held in Monroe Harbor with a Sprint Distance of 750 meters and an International Distance race of 1.5 kilometers.
The bike course included Lake Shore Drive, with the shorter Sprint Distance measuring 24.5 kilometers and the longer International Distance running 40 kilometers.
Runners ran along the lake from the grass reserve at Randolph past the museums, Shedd Aquarium and McCormick Place. The shorter Sprint Distance is 5 kilometers, the longer International Distance race tracks a 10 mile course.
