Two men and a woman appeared in Cook County Bond Court Saturday accused of a home invasion in southwest suburban Oak Lawn.
Jasmine Pico, 29, of the 4400 block of South Francisco Avenue in Chicago, Jesus Delgado, 24, of the 15000 block of South Millard Avenue, in Markham, and Juan Delgado, 27, of the 2500 block of W 38th Street in Chicago, were charged for the August 20 incident in the 9200 block of Central Avenue.
Jasmine Pico sat in the car as three men entered the home around 11:30 p.m., prosecutors alleged in court. They entered with shirts covering their faces up to their noses and approached two victims inside who were playing video games.
One victim was struck in the head with a shotgun and handgun. Another victim was hit with a handgun, Assistant State’s Attorney Eric Wojnicki said in court. Two witnesses upstairs did not hear what was going on, Wojnicki said. The men demanded valuables and fled the home in a van.
One of the victims followed the group in a car, prompting Juan Delgado to fire a gun in the car’s direction, Wojnicki said.
Police stopped their vehicle shortly after the home invasion, during which the three men fled on foot. One of the male suspects were not caught, Wojnicki said.
Among the items discovered in the van were two guns, one handgun, one shotgun, one wallet, a PlayStation II and two videogames, Wojnicki said.
Judge Laura Sullivan ordered Pico held on $300,000 bail. Jesus and Juan Delgado were held on $400,000 bail.
The investigation is ongoing for the fourth suspect in this incident, according to a press release issued by the Oak Lawn Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to call Oak Lawn Police detectives at (708) 422-8292.
