Police in south suburban Midlothian are searching for a man suspected in four attacks and robberies.
In each instance, the suspect came up from behind the female victims and beat them and robbed them.
Four women have been attacked in last four weeks, all in close proximity to each other.
The latest victim was walking home around 12:30 a.m. Sunday alone from the Metra stop.
The woman’s daughter Sara Judd says her mother was trying to do everything right. She had called a cab to pick her up so she wouldn’t have to walk home.
“They never showed up, ignored her calls,” Sara said. “She got literally a block away from the house when someone ran up from behind her, grabbed her purse, knocked her down, hit her in the face and ran off.”
Sara says her mom was it in the face and hurt her back and tailbone.
One of the other victims was just 17. Her parents told WGN News the suspect put a gun to her head.
The first victim, Stephanie Lopez, was attacked as she walked home from the Metra stop a few weeks ago in July. She had her 7 month old daughter in her hands
Some residents say they are upset the city is not doing more to inform people about what is going on. They also want more police patrolling the Metra stop after dark.
