Chicago’s Eisenhower Expressway is back open after a section was shut down by flooding.
Heavy rain led to rising water overnight.
Several drivers were able to get past, but some of them stalled out.
That led to the shutdown of the ‘Ike’ in both directions.
Drivers were detoured at Des Plaines and at Harlem.
The westbound lanes reopened first.
The two left eastbound lanes were also reopened, but the right lane is still under repairs because the pavement is buckling.
