A Pennsylvania mother says she didn’t know her son had died until she noticed the smell of his decomposing body in her home.
The woman, Kimberly Tutko, said her husband was the primary caretaker of their mentally disable 8-year-old son.
WPIX reports she said she noticed a strange odor coming from the third floor of their home on Friday.
Tutko said her husband told her that their son had died days ago.
Police have charged her husband Jarrod Tutko with child endangerment, , concealing the death of a child and abuse of a corpse.
An autopsy is scheduled. It is not clear how their son died.
The couple’s five other children have been placed in protective custody.
