More is being learned about the alleged gunman who critically wounded a CEO before taking his own life in a downtown office building.
60-year-old Tony DeFrances allegedly shot 54-year-old Steve Lavoie, the chairman and CEO of ArrowStream, the company where they both worked.
DeFrances and his wife live in Tower Lakes and have three grown children – two sons and a daughter.
Neighbors the family kept to themselves for the most part and that they seemed very pleasant, but aren't well-known in the area.
WGN is told DeFrances was a big part of the success of Arrowstream and he was being demoted due to company downsizing.
As Arrowstream’s chief technology officer, he had two master's degrees and a long career in the tech sector. He had also started his own software company some years back.
Earlier, squad cars from Chicago and a couple of suburban departments were at the family home. An officer told reporters everyone in the home is safe.
