No bond for 2 men charged in shooting of 3-year-old

Two reputed gang members who allegedly targeted a rival and instead shot a 3-year-old boy in the abdomen were ordered held without bail Monday by a Cook County judge.

19-year-old Alger Sanchez and 22-year-old Anton Aseves were charged with felony aggravated battery and attempted first degree murder.

Jason Ares was shot in the hip and abdomen late Friday night in front of an apartment near 44th and Sacramento.

The child was taken in critical condition to Mt. Sinai hospital with a torn colon, said Assistant State’s attorney Lorraine Scaduto.

He is expected to recover.
