Severe thunderstorm watch issued for parts of Indiana

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for portions of Indiana and Michigan until 8 p.m. CDT/9 p.m. EDT.

A cold front is sweeping across the Midwest this afternoon bringing in cooler and less humid air.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms have been developing across portions of Eastern Wisconsin, Lake Michigan, Michigan and Indiana.

Some of these storms are expected to be severe with hail, gusty winds and brief downpours.

The Chicago area could see a few showers and thunderstorms this afternoon but most severe weather will develop to the east.
