Feds trying to extradite former Chicago comptroller Amer Ahmad from Pakistan
Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s former city comptroller is hiding out in Pakistan after pleading guilty to corruption charges in Ohio.
Now, federal prosecutors want him back.
Amer Ahmad admitted he took payoffs and laundered the money when he was Ohio’s deputy state treasurer.
Last summer, Ahmad resigned from his job in Chicago without warning.
The feds say he used a phony passport to flee to Pakistan.
They’re seeking to extradite him.
He may also face prison time for entering Pakistan illegally.
