FAA: Ban on U.S. airlines’ flights to and from Tel Aviv, Israel lifted
UPDATE: The FAA says it is once again safe for U.S.-based airlines to land at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport.
But many other global airlines are still avoiding Israel, because of its ongoing fight with Hamas.
Israel says the number of rocket attacks from Gaza has dropped sharply, as has the number of airstrikes by the Israelis.
Secretary of State John Kerry is trying to enlist Arab nations to put pressure on Hamas to accept a cease-fire.
(CNN) — The Federal Aviation Administration has extended its ban on U.S. airlines’ flights to and from Tel Aviv, Israel, for another 24 hours.
The ban now runs through 12:15 p.m. ET Thursday, the FAA says.
