Hundreds of pro-Israeli and Palestinian protesters rallied near the Israeli Consulate in the West Loop Tuesday.
Chicago police officers assigned to the Mounted Unit kept the two sides separate at Madison and Canal.
More than 30 organizations that support Israel are making their voices heard. They are arguing Israel only wants peace, and has a right to defend itself.
"The message is simple and clear: say 'yes' to peace and no to 'terror,'" said Peggy Shapiro, of Stand with Us.
"We're all asking for a cease-fire. We want an end to the killing," said Hatem Abudayyeh, of the Coalition for Justice in Palestine.
