Apps to help you pay your friends back

Whether you’re chipping in for a restaurant bill or paying someone back for concert tickets, there are a TON of apps out there to help you pay your friends back. You’ll never write another check again!

Venmo

Free for iOs and Android

One of the positives about this app is that it syncs up with Facebook very nicely. As a result, the setup process is a piece of cake. You can also see a newsfeed of your friends’ transactions with in the app. Note: It’s free to make debit card payments and bank account transfers with this app, but there’s a 2.9% fee attached to credit card payments.

Square Cash

Free for iOs and Android

Setup for this app is also super easy — you don’t even need an account. And the interface is incredibly user-friendly. The only downside to this app it ONLY works with debit cards. Square Cash doesn’t allow card payments or bank account transfers.

Google Wallet

Free for iOs and Android

If you’re a Google/Gmail user, this might be a good option for you — you must have a gmail account to use this app. So, in turn, you can attach a payment to any gmail message. The only downside is that it does take a bit of time to set up your account (you have to enter your address and the last 4 digits of your social security number.) Bank account transfers with this app are free, but there is a 2.9% fee if you make a credit card or debit card payment. You can also store gift cards within the app and join loyalty programs.
