Man charged with spitting in Cook County judge’s face
A Northside business owner is accused of slapping and spitting in the face of a 79-year-old judge.
David Nicosia, 55, is charged with four counts of aggravated battery and a hate crime.
Prosecutors say Nicosia became angry because Judge Arnette Hubbard was smoking near him outside the Daley Center Monday.
They say he told Hubbard to move, called her “Rosa Parks,” spit in her face and then slapped her.
Hubbard, who is African-American, got her start as a civil rights attorney in the late 1960s.
She’s been a county judge since 1997.
