The Illinois Tollway is warning I-Pass customers about a phishing scam.

Customers have been sent fraudulent emails saying they owe money for missed tolls.

The scam uses the e-z pass logo and the emails are being sent from the 'e-z pass collection agency.'

About 100 customers have reported getting the email.

Anyone who has received an email should delete it immediately.

The tollway said no I-Pass accounts have been compromised in the scam.

I have been getting repeated email messages stating I owe for missed tolls. I had missed a couple tolls, but paid within the required 7 days. I suspected it was somehow a scam so never opened it. I have found my check cleared so it is definitely a scam.

I purchased an E-Z pass only a week ago. Today, I receive an e-mail saying I owe money for tolls. If my account has not been compromised, why am I receiving this e-mail message. My e-mail was given on the E-Z pass application. What gives?
