It doesn’t have to be friday for you to eat like a cheat day. TGI Fridays is launching a new summer promotion today, its “Endless Appetizers” offers up all you can eat appetizers for just 10 bucks.
The gut-busting deal is just ten bucks and features the Fridays’ most popular starters – loaded potato skins, pot stickers, mozzarella sticks, bruschetta, spinach dig, boneless wings and crispy green-bean fries. There is one caveat, you’ve gotta stick to the same appetizer the whole time.
Fridays has over 900 locations in 60 countries; it will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year. However, all is not golden for casual dining spot, it was recently sold to the private investment firms Sentinel Capital Partners and TriArtisan Capital Partners for a reported $800 million dollars.
The restaurant is now trying to update its menu, stores and image to many Millennials, who have moved away casual-dining in favor of more fast-casual and budget conscious spots, like Panera or Chipotle.
The “Endless Appetizer” promotion is seen by industry experts as a last-ditch effort for TGI Fridays to say afloat in a dying scene. Some even say guest will try to game the system but, Brian Gies, the Chief Marketing Officer of Fridays, told USA Today, “There will be no policing or hand-slapping”.
