Prosecutors in Wisconsin have demonstrated probable cause to continue the case against a former police officer accused of hiding two women’s bodies in suitcases .
Fifty-two-year-old Steven Zelich is charged with two counts of hiding the bodies of two women found in the two suitcases along a highway north of Lake Geneva last month. He is accused of keeping the suitcases with the remains of the women at his apartment in a Milwaukee suburb and in the trunk of his vehicle before dumping the luggage on the side of a road.
There’s also an investigation into the deaths of the women. They are identified as 21-year-old Jenny Gamez of Cottage Grove, Oregon, and 37-year-old Laura Simonson, of Farmington, Minnesota.
Zelich has not been charged with homicide. He’s held on a million dollar bond.
