Translation, I told my officers to not classify things as “murders”. A case of domestic violence where someone is beaten so bad they die, might have once been classified as a murder. The new way is to have the Crook County ME blame the death on a blood clot and say the person could have died from that just by walking down the street. The police could have gone after a lesser charge of murder but without any complaining victim (because she was dead) or any witnesses, why should they bother? Good reporting WGN.
