A man died Tuesday afternoon after being electrocuted by down power lines in a southwest suburb.

Emergency crews in Burbank responded to a call around 2 p.m. in the 8600 block of S. Meade Ave.  They found 21-year-old Nedal Doleh unresponsive in the backyard.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say ComEd employees were working to repair lines in the area.

ComEd released a statement saying:

"Last night brought severe storms that impacted most of ComEd’s service territory.  The safety of our customers and employees is our highest priority, particularly in instances of extreme weather.  We are very sorry to learn about this young man’s passing and we are working with local authorities to understand the circumstances around this unfortunate incident."
