Prayer vigil for Cortez Bailey who was gunned down one year ago

Two groups join hands with the goal of closing an open murder case that’s now one year old.

Chicago’s citizens for change and Cook County Crime Stoppers held a prayer vigil on the anniversary of Cortez Bailey’s death.

The 23-year-old was fatally shot in broad daylight on June 26th last year.

The hope is someone will have information on the shooting.

Bailey’s mother wants other grieving parents to realize┬áthere are people in the community who care about their loss.

In addition to a prayer vigil the group handed out flyers to residents. Bailey was killed at 75th and Yates. Just blocks away from his home.
