A New Jersey woman reportedly beat another woman Tuesday in front of that woman’s young son as bystanders watched.
Police are searching for LaTia Harris, 25, who is accused of kicking, punching and threatening her McDonald’s colleague Catherine Ferreira. The fight started after Harris accused the victim of spreading a rumor.
There was a group of people nearby in the Salem, New Jersey, park where the attack occurred, but the only person who did anything to try to stop the violence was Ferreira’s two-year-old son, who cried and kicked his mother’s attacker. One bystander filmed the scene and posted it to Facebook, but the video was taken down after it was reported.
Ferreira suffered a broken nose, cuts and bruises, and she now has limited vision in her left eye.
Harris faces charges of aggravated assault and making terroristic threats. None of the witnesses face any charges.
