CHICAGO, June 26, 2014 – Chicago’s Very Own WGN-TV will air “Chicago’s Summer Blast” on Friday, July 4th at 9:30pm CT, featuring the fireworks display live from Navy Pier. This half-hour special will air in HD, immediately following an abbreviated “WGN News at Nine.” Hosted by WGN’s Dean Richards with Amy Rutledge reporting from the pier, “Chicago’s Summer Blast” will cover all the sights and sounds of America’s birthday celebration from one of Chicago’s largest tourist attractions. WGN will also take a look at the grand plans and renovation of Navy Pier, which are off and running and building excitement.
