The RTA meets today to elect a new chairman and retiring Republican State Senator Kirk Dillard is expected to get the job.
Dillard ran unsuccessfully for the Republican nomination for Governor in March, but he says he has enough support to be elected to lead the RTA.
Dillard would replace John Gates Junior and head the agency that oversees the CTA, Metra and Pace.
Dillard is an attorney from Hinsdale.
He says he’s a big supporter of public transportation and works well with both Republicans and Democrats.
