It won’t be a summer of fun in the sun for 18-year old new high school graduate Camilla Misiaszek and she wouldn’t have it any other way. The CPS student will be spending the next couple months interning at Advantage Futures and on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
Camilla received the CME group’s mayoral award for student achievement and internship, an honor she received based on her 5.0 GPA at Lane Tech and an essay on the futures industry.
79 Chicago Public School students received grants from the CME Center for Innovation. Only five were placed in paid internships. The award was started back in 1986 in conjunction with the mayor’s office and to date has given out more than a million dollars to students.
