Tortured with fireworks: Cat found on South Side expected to make it

A battered and bruised cat was hours from death when he was found on Chicago’s South Side this week. Animal shelter volunteers suspect the cat was  intentionally harmed with fireworks

The cat was found at 57th and Elizabeth in Englewood a few days ago with injuries common with animal abuse.

A volunteer from PAWS Chicago took the cat to the shelter where they named him Nicky.

Nicky had injuries to his neck, leg and torso. PAWS suspects fireworks were involved. They believe Nicky was once a house cat not afraid of people and was easily led into the wrong arms.
They encourage people to come forward and turn in animal abusers.
In time Nicky’s should be ok and he will go into foster care and then perhaps adoption.
