A mother from the south suburbs has filed a lawsuit against a local Jewel-Osco over a recent salmonella outbreak.

The outbreak has been linked to a Jewel deli at 171st and Harlem in Tinley Park.

15 people recently got sick and four of them were hospitalized. Cook County health officials say 11 of those people have been linked to the same strain of salmonella.

Colleen Ghelfi filed a lawsuit last week alleging her 11-year-old son ate food bought from the deli– then got sick and had to be hospitalized.

Jewel temporarily closed the deli on June 11.
