The World’s Ugliest Dog competition was held in California Saturday.
Unlike in the kennel competitions, the owners of the “ugliest dog” contestants were hoping the judges saw all of the warts and all the flaws.
In the end, the big prize went to 2-year-old “Peanut” of Greenville, North Carolina. He lost his lips and eyelids in a fire and now has bald patches from scars on his body. Peanut and his owner, Holly Chandler, took home a four foot trophy and a $1500 dollar check.

Chandler plans to donate the prize money to pay for the veterinary bills of animals in need so that others might have the same opportunities as Peanut.
