The weather that moved in came fast and furious leaving many drivers having to navigate around standing water in torrential rains. This standing water along Mannheim Road near Lawrence forced southbound drivers into the northbound lanes. Drivers lucky in this spot they had somewhere to go and didn’t get stalled out trying to get through the water. South at 103rd and Harlem Avenue lightening and torrential rain caused drivers to slow down and drive with caution. At this gas station water came gushing out of this gutter barley to able to keep up with how fast the rain was coming down. Drivers we talked to were surprised at the speed with which the storms seemed to kick-up, Mother Nature forcing them to change their plans, if only until the weather passed.
