A series of recent home invasions on the far Northwest Side have residents on edge and police issuing a community alert.
It’s happened twice in the last couple of weeks, most recently Monday afternoon.
Each time it’s two or three masked men who show a handgun. In one case, they’ve fired it.
No one’s been hurt.
The men have also claimed to be police officers looking for someone, the real Chicago police say.
Long-time residents of the placid Sauganash area, home to many police officers and their families, are quick to admit they’re fearful.
The suspects are still at large. Police in the 17th District want residents to be aware of the crimes and keep an eye out for suspicious cars and people in their neighborhoods. All three suspects are described as black men, 5’7, 150 lbs wearing a ski mask or hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (312) 744-8263.
