The first weekend of the Ontario St. bridge demolition project went so well that IDOT crews are now expected to complete the three-weekend project in just two weekends.
The outbound lanes of the Kennedy Expressway will close from Grand Ave. to Odgen Ave., starting Friday at 9 p.m. The ramp from the inbound Eisenhower to the outbound Kennedy will also be closed.
As with the first weekend of the project, IDOT officials are urging visitors to the city to take public transit.

Here is how these estimates work. It will take two week ends for the job to be done but You tell the public three week ends. This way the public thinks The workers are working super hard to get the job done quickly. The politicians are going to take credit for the work being done ahead of time when in fact it would take only two week ends They think the people are stupid.

So at your job when you tell your boss 3 weeks and you get it done in 2, did you work hard or were you a bad estimator? Do they reprimand you for not predicting reality or are they happy because you came in under budget, i.e. better than their expectations? Here’s to a positive outlook on life and trusting & verifying people.
