Temps, humidity rise but no storms yet

The meteorological ingredients for severe thunderstorms are lining up across northern Illinois this afternoon, but so far no thunderstorms have developed.

Temperatures have climbed into the lower and middle 80s and dew points have surged from the comfortable 40s this morning to the sticky 60s this afternoon.  South winds have increased to more than 20-25 mph with gusts to 40 mph.
