Officials: Suspect questioned in slaying of special ed teacher
Chicago police have arrest a man in the murder of a South Side teacher.
58-year-old Betty Howard was at her real estate office, where she worked a second job, when she was shot to death on May 29.
Police say a shootout outside the office between rival gang factions led to several bullets tearing through the office wall, one of which hit Howard in the head, killing her.
The Chicago Tribune reports the man in custody, a 23-year-old man affiliated with the Gangster Disciples.
