Police: Officers shoot reckless driver in Wicker Park
Chicago police officers shot and injured a man they say intentionally drove his SUV into several parked cars in the Wicker Park neighborhood,
Police say the man refused to stop for officers.
The incident happened just before midnight near North and Hoyne.
A police union spokesman says several witnesses chased the man after he hit the cars and a building and drove off.
The driver refused to get out of the vehicle after he was sprayed with pepper spray.
Officers then fired several shots into the SUV, hitting him in the leg.
The man was taken in good condition to Stroger Hospital.
No one else was injured.
