Kidney donor stops attack on CTA, chases down suspect
A man is being called a hero for saving a woman from an attack at a suburban CTA station.
But 31-year-old Craig Mathis is no stranger to saving the day.
Mathis, who donated a kidney to a friend nearly a year ago, was walking with another friend early Tuesday morning near the Blue Line CTA station in Forest Park.
The two came upon a woman being attacked by a man. The man ran off and Mathis chased after him. His friend called 911 and Forest Park police arrived on the scene.
Mathis said he was just doing what he hoped anyone else would do.
