Police superintendent released from hospital after heart procedure

Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy was released from Northwestern Memorial Hospital today after he had a procedure Thursday to take care of blockage in his arteries.

McCarthy “is doing very well, resting comfortably at home and looking forward to being back on patrol very soon,” CPD spokesman Adam Collins said in a statement.
