Maine West teacher, soccer coach officially fired in hazing scandal
A former teacher and soccer coach at Maine West High School has been officially fired by the school district.
In January of last year school officials fired soccer coaches Emilio Rodriguez and Michael Divincenzo.
Rodriguez chose to appeal, but the decision was upheld during Monday night’s meeting.
Both men, along with the district and Maine West principal Audrey Haugen, are still the subjects of a pending lawsuit brought on behalf of some former soccer players.
They’re accused of not keeping freshmen players safe from being hazed by other players.
