About 20 college friends were gathered in Charleston for a bachelor party Memorial Day weekend, one of the attendees told Deadspin. During dinner, one of the men saw Murray, and the group tried to buy him drinks and ask if he could say a few words to the bachelor.
He originally declined both propositions, but a couple minutes later he walked into the room and gave a speech full of advice, not to the groom, but to the guests who still had time to find love.
“If you have someone that you think is the one, don’t just sort of think in your ordinary mind, okay, let’s make a date, let’s plan this and make a party and get married. Take that person and travel around the world,” he said. “When you land in JFK, and you’re still in love with that person? Get married at the airport.”
