When a Pennsylvania mother brought her baby daughter to the hospital after noticing changes in the child’s behavior, doctors discovered that the baby had a blood alcohol content level nearly four times the legal limit for adults to drive.
Jessica Bachmaier, of Erie, Pennsylvania, told WPXI that she made her daughter a bottle of formula mixed with what she thought was bottled water. She said she believes the child’s babysitter had filled the water bottle with vodka.
“Her motor skills weren’t all there. Like, she wasn’t cooperating. She was like a limp noodle,” Bachmaier said. “I just want her to be OK. I’m scared for her. I’m worried about her. I won’t sleep. I won’t eat.”
The baby is doing well and is in foster care. No charges have been filed, but police are investigating the issue.
