Driver accused of killing young child while high stands trial Tuesday
A Highland Park woman accused of driving while high and killing a young child stands trial Tuesday.
Carly Rousso is charged with reckless homicide and aggravated DUI. Prosecutors say Rousso was high from huffing a computer cleaning solvent when she hit a Highwood woman and her three children on Labor Day, 2012, in downtown Highland Park.
Jaclyn Santos-Sacramento, 5, was killed. Her family filed a civil lawsuit against Rousso, which it settled a year ago.
Rousso faces up to 14 years in prison.
