Two fourth grade students in Brooklyn were arrested on suspicion of putting rat poison in their teacher’s water bottle.

The incident was reported to the principal at Public School 315 on Monday by a mother who said her child witnessed what the students did.

The teacher, who drank from the bottle, was treated for nausea and a spike in blood pressure, but did not get seriously sick.

The 9 and 12-year-old children were charged with reckless endangerment and assault.

Police have not released a motive.

Well, the 12 year old might have been held back a few times. Might make some sense if he/she pulled a stunt like this.

So what prompts children of this age to do such things? Seems there is a growing trend among today's students to carry out serious violent and destructive acts toward teachers and fellow students.

The problem exist due to lack of parenting by humans and allowing television, social media, gaming and themselves(the children) to be the adult. This is another case of children that are sneaky, do wrong and not get punished for their wrong actions when they are caught. This is why children who have been retained should be put into a class of their peers who have also been retained. The 9 year old was probably the follower and thought the 12 year old was "cool".
