Chicago alderman hires Todd Stroger
The Sun-Times reports Chicago Alderman Howard Brookins has hired former Cook County Board President Todd Stroger.
Brookins, of the 21st ward, confirmed he hired Stroger on a month-to-month basis, paying him what equals to about $25,000 to $30,000 a year.
Stroger lost his office in 2010 to Toni Preckwinkle. He has been unemployed for most of the time since that election.
Stroger is the son of the late Cook County President John Stroger.
Howard Brookins Sr. was a longtime state senator and friend of John Stroger and their sons have been friends for years.
Two of Todd Stroger’s former aides have been sentenced to prison for accepting kickbacks and theft. Stroger was never charged with a crime.
