Arrest made in Chicago teen’s murder
A Chicago man has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 16-year-old boy.
Daryl Lee, 20, of 3900 block of S. Lake Park Avenue is accused of shooting Marquise Harris, 16, once in the chest outside a home in the 6200 block of S. St. Lawrence Avenue on January 11. At the time of the shooting, police say Harris had gotten into a fight with someone at a party in the building where he lived.
Investigators picked up Lee in Des Moines, Iowa, on May 16 and arrested him for three warrants, including Harris’ murder. He was already extradited to Chicago and is scheduled to appear in bond court today.
Harris’ cousin, Kevin Baker, 19, was shot and killed a week later as he walked home from Harold Washington College with another cousin. Police say Baker was shot in the head and stomach during a robbery near 62nd Street and Campbell Avenue.
