Six months later, Illinois town still rebuilding after devastating tornados

Six months ago, it seemed as if hell came down upon Washington, Illinois.

The F-4 tornado, tore a path, three miles long, through the small city.

Of the 10,000 homes that make up this town outside of Peoria, the tornado damaged or destroyed more than 1100.

The devastation, there was only one official fatality.  51-year-old  Steve Neubauer.

WGN’s Sean Lewis visited Washington recently and found a city that nearly reached its limit six months ago on the edge of winter and is now finding its own Spring through the will of those who call this home.
