Flights back on schedule at O’Hare, Midway after ground stoppage

Flights out of Chicago’s airports are back on schedule this morning, after a complete ground stop during Tuesday’s lunch hour.

A bathroom fan burned out and sent smoke through the Elgin Air Traffic Control Center.

The center guides all flights into and out of O’Hare and Midway.

More than 2500 flights had to be cancelled or delayed Tuesday.
