Questions remain after woman found beaten to death
Suburban South Holland police are asking for the public’s help after a woman was found beaten to death in her own home Friday.
Police found the body of 33-year-old Rachael Galbreath Friday. Saturday an autopsy revealed she had multiple injuries to her head and body
Police say Galbreath had lived in her home with her three dogs for at least 4 years. Neighbors say her boyfriend also lived there until the two recently broke up. He moved out just last week. Police questioned the man Friday and let him go Saturday.
For several years, Galbreath worked at Koubelle’s, a kennel and dog groomer just down the street from her home in South Holland. Staff were told to share little with the public about what they know. They did tell WGN that Galbreath was a lovely girl, beautiful and intelligent who got along with everyone. They say Rachael will be missed.
Police won’t say exactly how the victim died, only that it was an assault. They won’t reveal when she was last seen alive or if a weapon was found.
